Classical Youth BalletClassical Ballet Academy (CBA) announced the formation of the Classical Youth Ballet (CYB) company for the 2005 -2006 season.As the Northwest Arkansas region continues to grow in size and cultural awareness, a youth ballet company provides more intense classical ballet training in a safe and caring environment as well providing public performance opportunities for talented youth dancers. Both CBA and CYB are non-profit organizations under section 501(c)(3). CYB, directed by Catherine Kyle, currently holds two productions annually, The Nutcracker and the annual spring performance as well as several dance series concerts. Classical Youth Ballet 2009-2010 company members are: Bailey Brya, Mikaela Chatman, Mary Bowman Cooper, Laddie DeGrand, Meryl Engelke, Peyton Etzel, Meredith Hedberg, Elizabeth Kyle, Julie Linn, Elizabeth Necessary, Yuriko Roby, Gabrielle Spear, Marissa Spear, Sophia Storkov, Alexa Tassani,Ashley Wagner, Sierra Wagner CYB had its first public performance at Arend Arts Center on Sunday, June 5, 2005. “Afternoon of the Arts” was the first opportunity for the youth ballet dancers to perform as a company in a state of the art venue. The performance will included classical variations from Raymonda, the modern ballet Gershwin Ensembles, area youth musicians and singers as well as professional guest artists, Alexandra Bergman and Yann Irlinger of Tulsa Ballet. Other guest artists and teachers include Leah Gallas, Aaron Girlinghouse, Karina Sturdevant, Alberto Montesso, Olga Pavlova, Chung Lin-Tseng, Rebekah Raun, Frank Vega, and Jane Vorburger
